This workshop will be an introductory course to visualise your data with Tableau Desktop and Flourish. Both tools are free for students and academics and fairly user-friendly.

Outcomes:

Participants will learn the following about Tableau Desktop:

• how to upload a dataset
• the visualisation types in Tableau
• how to create multiple visualisations, a dashboard and a story
• how to publish a visualisation

Participants will learn the following about Flourish:

• Which data visualisation types are available in Flourish
• How to create visualisations and stories
• how to embed and publish your visualisations

Note to registrants:

An account for Tableau and Flourish will need to be set up before the workshop starts. Information will be shared to all registrants before the time. Registrants will receive data sets to use while doing the exercises during this session.
